'Armed' Swamy likely to go for summoning of PC
Pioneer News Service/New Delhi Jan 21, 2011
Janata Party president Subramanian Swamy will on Saturday don the role of a prosecutor by raising charges against Home Minister P Chidambaram in the Special Court and demanding his summoning.
Swamy’s arguments are expected to round-off his three-month-long legal battle for making Chidambaram a co-accused in the 2G spectrum scam for his alleged “connivance, collusion and conspiracy” with jailed former Telecom Minister A Raja.
Armed with the PMO and Finance Ministry-certified crucial documents against Chidambaram, Swamy is expected to charge his archrival for “jointly fixing the spectrum prices” at cheap rates with Raja. Apart from targeting Chidambaram’s tenure as Finance Minister, Swamy has already produced documents to show “the dereliction of duty” by him as the Home Minister by allowing companies like Etisalat and Telenor in the country’s sector despite objections by security and intelligence agencies.
It is expected that after finishing his arguments, Swamy will urge for the summoning of Chidambaram under Section 319 of CrPc.

Pending Judgements in 2G Cases
In the Supreme Court, Subramanian Swamy and noted lawyer Prashant Bhushan reminded the bench headed by Justice GS Singhvi and Justice AK Ganguly about the pending judgements in the spectrum scam cases.
Since Justice Ganguly will retire on February 2, it is expected that crucial judgements in four pending cases will be delivered soon. The cases pending are: Cancellation of all licences issued by Raja and conduct of auction; Swamy’s petition for probing the role of Chidambaram in spectrum allocation by CBI and guidelines on sanction for prosecution; and Bhushan’s petition for creation of Special Investigation Team (SIT) to help the Supreme Court in monitoring the probe.
