NEW DELHI: Union home minister P Chidambaram on Wednesday broke off from the grievance hustlers within theCongress to defend the Batla House police encounter of 2008. Chidambaram, who rejected Congress general secretary Digvijaya Singh's claim that the encounter at Batla House was "fake", insisted that the police action was genuine.
